As Vice President, Human Resources, TJ Schmaltz is responsible for all human resources and payroll functions for Impark in Canada and the United States. This includes supporting the organization’s various branches in all aspects of recruitment and selection; leave, compensation and benefit management; labour and employee relations; collective bargaining; training and development; health and safety; statutory compliance; and, payroll administration. Mr. Schmaltz works closely with the Impark’s CEO and executive team to support the organization’s strategic objectives through human resource management best practices.
Mr. Schmaltz joined Impark in 2014 and brings with him extensive human resource management experience working in complex, multi-union, multi-business organizations, including BC’S largest retailer. He has also served as a part-time faculty member for the School of Business at the British Columbia Institute of Technology and with Simon Fraser University. Prior to a career in human resources, Mr. Schmaltz was a practicing labour and employment lawyer.
Mr. Schmaltz holds an LLB and a BCL from McGill University and is a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP). He proudly serves as a member of the Board of the Human Resource Management Association and is also a member of the Board for the Ucluelet Aquarium Society.
